DENT REPAIR

Dent Repair & Case Refinishing

Restoring the Beauty and Integrity of Fine Timepieces

At Swiss Watch Precision, we understand that even the most treasured watches are not immune to the passage of time—or the occasional scratch, ding, or dent. Whether it’s everyday wear or a specific impact, we specialize in restoring your watch to its original luster, with expert polishing and dent filling performed by our skilled craftsmen.

Fine watches crafted from 18k and 14k gold, including white, yellow, and rose gold, are particularly susceptible to case damage due to the softness of the metal. Our restoration process goes beyond surface work—when needed, we refill gold loss with matching alloy, then smooth and refinish the case to blend seamlessly with the original material.

Our Process: Complete Case Restoration & Internal Overhaul

To preserve the precision of your timepiece, we never polish a watch without also servicing the movement. High-speed polishing wheels can create vibrations that disrupt mechanical accuracy—so every aesthetic service is paired with a full mechanical inspection and overhaul.

  1. Initial Inspection

    • We open the case back and assess for water damage, rust, or worn components.

    • Any compromised gaskets or water seals are identified and replaced.

  2. Disassembly & Cleaning

    • The movement, stem, crystal, and bracelet are carefully separated.

    • Our head polisher begins restoring the exterior, while our Swiss-trained watchmakers disassemble the movement piece by piece.

  3. Precision Ultrasonic Cleaning

    • All components—gears, plates, springs—are treated in a six-stage ultrasonic bath to eliminate debris, oils, and corrosion from every crevice.

  4. Repair, Lubrication & Reassembly

    • Worn parts are replaced with authentic components.

    • The movement is carefully reassembled, lubricated, and all gaskets are renewed to restore water resistance.

  5. Crystal Replacement & Final Assembly

    • If needed, we fit a new sapphire or acrylic crystal for a flawless finish.

    • The fully restored movement is re-cased, and the polished case undergoes a final ultrasonic rinse and dry.

Final Quality Assurance

Before returning your timepiece, our master watchmakers conduct a rigorous quality control protocol:

  • Amplitude testing to assess timekeeping accuracy

  • Pressure testing to verify water resistance

  • Full function testing for all complications (date, chronograph, moonphase, etc.)

  • Power reserve simulation on a rotating wheel that mimics wrist movement, ensuring the automatic winding system operates as designed

Your watch is then monitored for up to 36 hours to confirm optimal performance before being returned to you—restored in both form and function.

A Service Without Compromise

Our complete case repair and movement restoration service typically requires 6 to 8 weeks, reflecting the level of craftsmanship and precision we bring to every project. At Swiss Watch Precision, we treat every timepiece as a legacy to be preserved.

🛠️ Price Upon Request

Due to the varying complexity of dent and case damage, pricing is provided on a case-by-case basis. Whether your watch requires minor touch-ups or advanced restoration—such as lug reformation, deep dent correction, or precious metal casework—our master technicians will assess and recommend the most appropriate solution.

Each restoration is carried out with the care and skill worthy of fine horology.
